The Texas Department of Insurance Division of Workers’ Compensation announced the availability of public use data files (PUDFs) for workers’ compensation medical charges and payments.
Data sets for both professional medical services and institutional (hospital) services have been included on the publication price list which is posted on the agency Web site at: http://www.tdi.state.tx.us/wc/information/pubpricelist.html.
The currently available PUDF data sets provide information on services rendered in calendar years 2005 and 2006, as reported by the insurance carriers to TDI.
The Commissioner of Workers’ Compensation has established a fee of $100 for the institutional (hospital) data set and $50 for each of the professional medical services data sets.
The division encourages potential PUDF users to review the “User Guide” available on the publication price list prior to purchasing the data sets.
