America First Creates Disaster Plan Guide for South Central Customers

July 14, 2006

Dallas-based America First Insurance, a member of Liberty Mutual Group, announced it has created a disaster planning guide to help its 8,500 homeowner insurance customers throughout Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas protect their families and homes during hurricane season.

A six-page Disaster Planning Guide is available to policyholders on the America First Insurance Consumer Web site at www.americafirst-ins.com. The guide helps policyholders develop an action plan for possible evacuation, details what necessities should go into an emergency kit, and explains the importance of undertaking a household inventory among other important safety tips.

“We want our policyholders to be as ready as they can be to get out of harm’s way and that starts with careful planning well in advance of a storm,” said America First Insurance president and CEO Phil Broughton. “Knowing that you have adequate coverage for your property is also an important part of disaster planning and our independent agents are ready to assist our policyholders in evaluating their individual needs,” added Broughton.

In the event of catastrophic losses in the states where America First provides coverage, mobile claims teams will be strategically dispatched to the centers of storm-damaged regions to ensure prompt and accurate claims service, the company said.

America First Insurance offers property and casualty products, including a comprehensive set of personal and commercial coverage, distributed only through appointed independent agents. Headquartered in Dallas, America First Insurance offers insurance products in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas.
