While the Louisiana House of Representatives Insurance Committee recently killed two bills and moved another forward, other insurance related measures are waiting in the wings.
According to the Tatman Group, a lobbyist for the Professional Insurance Agents of Louisiana, bills to watch for in the coming week include:
–SB 510 – Quinn – Provides for homeowner’s insurance policy claims for damages attributed to covered and uncovered losses under the policy (concurrent cause of loss – wind vs. flood).
–HB 346 – Ansardi – Provides for insurance policy information disclosure.
–HB 1358 – Carter, K – Provides insured with a private cause of action for certain acts.
–HB 318 – Richmond, Prohibits insurers from using 2005 credit information to underwrite or rate risk for persons who resided in declared disaster areas in 2005.
