Investigators from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Tulsa Fire Department have determined that arson was the cause of the Jan. 22 fire that destroyed the Vintage Health Quest Athletic Club in Tulsa.
After three days of investigation, certified fire investigators from ATF’s
National Response Team and Tulsa Fire Department arson investigators finished the cause and origin determination portion of the investigation and said the blaze was incendiary in nature.
The investigation continues at the local level and is being coordinated
out of the Tulsa Fire Department and ATF Arson Task Force. ATF entered the investigation at the request of the Tulsa Fire Department, and both agencies will continue to work the investigation jointly.
