CCC Names Chief Product Officer
CCC Information Services appointed Shivani Govil as chief product offficer.She will lead the Chicago insurtech’s product strategy, product management and marketing functions.
CCC announced in February plans to go public through a special purpose acquisition company merger with Dragoneer Growth Opportunities Corp., which values the company at $7 billion.
“The company expects that certain proceeds from that transaction will be used to help fund software research and development,” CCC said in a press release.
“The scale of our network and speed of innovation drive our clients’ digital transformation objectives,” stated CCC Chairman and CEO Githesh Ramamurthy. “Shivani is a world-class executive who brings strong expertise in leading large-scale product innovation and delivery.”
Before coming to CCC, Govil was executive vice president at Sage Software, the United Kingdom’s largest publicly held software company. Prior to that, Govil served as global vice president at SAP Ariba, launching the company’s AI product portfolio across a network of 3 million buyers and suppliers, CCC said.
Govil has worked at both large companies and Silicon Valley tech startups and began her career in management consulting.
CCC said its claims software, which it rents as a service, serves 30,000 businesses in the auto collision repair industry, including insurers, repairers, automakers and part suppliers.
Arbella Appoints Asst. VP for Claims
Arbella Insurance Group appointed Steven Lin as assistant vice president of claim shared services.
Lin oversees the claim service center, the special investigations unit, claim data and analytics, learning and development, quality, claim information and technology and vendor management. He reports to Joseph Salerno, senior vice president of claim.
Lin previously held various leadership positions for Liberty Mutual, Arbella said in a press release. Most recently, he played a role in understanding the end-to-end auto physical damage claim process and assisting with the implementation of a new claim platform.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a masters in business administration from Villanova University. He resides in Westwood, Mass. with his wife Emmy, their six-year old daughter Sophie and their dog, Hugo.
Arbella, headquartered in Quincy, Mass., is a property and casualty insurance carrier with $800 million in revenue and $1.8 billion in assets.
Davies Appoints Deputy Chairman, Marketing Officer
Davies, an international financial services firm headquartered in London, has appointed Darren Coombes as group deputy chairman and Dene Rowe as group chief marketing officer.
Rowe will start with Davies in early April, reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer Dan Saulter.
Rowe joined Davies in 2020 as innovation director after the company acquired Keoghs, a United Kingdom claims services firm with offices in Scotland and Northern Ireland. He has held a series of senior executive roles in marketing, technology and sales, the company said in a press release.
Rowe will lead marketing, communications, innovation, pipeline management and tender activity, Davies said. He will also help Davies’ drive to implement automation and artificial intelligence internally, working with Davies’ technology teams and business heads.
Coombes most recently served as chief growth officer for Davies. As group deputy chairman, he will Davies’ regulated boards as a non-non-executive director. He will play “a global ambassadorial role, supporting client relationship management and focusing on strategic opportunities and new markets, Davies said.
Early this month the firm announced new investment with international investor BC Partners taking a majority stake in the business earlier in this month, to support Davies’ next phase of international expansion and continued digital transformation and investment.
IAT Hires VP of Management Liability Claims
IAT Insurance Group, a speciality property and casualty insurer based in Raleigh, N.C., has hired Thomas J. Rizzuto as vice president of management liability claims.
Rizzuto will support IAT’s new management liability business unit, the company said in a press release.
Rizzuto comes to IAT after 15 years at The Travelers Companies, most recently as the managing director and counsel leading a national management liability claims staff. In that role he oversaw claims involving crime, employment practices, directors and officers, fiduciary liability and cyber liability. Prior to Travelers, Rizzuto was an assistant vice president at Gulf Insurance and claims counsel at CNA.
IAT announced the creation of its new Management Liability unit last year.With an anticipated launch in April, the group will serve private and non-profit organizations and underwrite policies for directors and officers, employment practices, fiduciary, crime and cyber liability.
Rizzuto is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and a client advisor to the Professional Liability Attorney Network. A lawyer and member of the New York State Bar, he holds a juris doctor from the New England School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Adelphi University.
