ABOUT TIME! Finally this horror is addressed. These killing machines are flying often over 75 mph. On two lane highways many of them just stay in the left lane blocking traffic or quickly switch lanes cutting off other vehicles. You can see them veering off the road hitting the sound strip because they have fallen asleep and how often do they rear end stopped traffic and claim the brakes failed. WAKE UP, you’re killing people.
I drive a truck. We already have cars pass up because we aren’t going fast enough, whip over in front of us & take an exit. They just can’t wait a few second behind us.
If you’re in the right lane where trucks should be restricted to, a slow speed should never be an issue and for the irresponsible drivers who cut you off it will be safer for both the truck driver and other drivers
Instead of your laypersons opinion, how about a paramedic’s view that works the wrecks? I would say that a good 80-90% of injury wrecks I’ve worked over my career were caused by the people driving…. wait for it…. cars…. It’s odd how that works. Regulate the ones with safety training and get paid to operate a motor vehicle, but give a free pass to the ones who have NO safety training and who get their license after two days of looking at a book. The vast majority of truck drivers are professional, and aren’t looking to hurt anyone. I’ve seen peoples lives destroyed by wrecks and my personal opinion is to return the interstate’s to the people it was built for…. Trucks and the military. Keep the cars off any road that has a speed limit over 45. They lack the training to handle the responsibility…
Well, Bill I had no idea you were aware of my background, it was law enforcement. Your observations of wrecks after the fact is suspect as is your ridiculous solution. I made my comment and I stand by it, govern truck speed and restrict to the right lanes. Let the money hungry companies that force these guys to speed find innovative solutions

One more regulation should be enforced, these monsters should be restricted to the right lane only, on a two lane highway
