I posted a picture that my husband took of me riding my bicycle. I don’t ride very often and when I do I ride on flat ground on a bike path and typically I peddle leisurely. A friend took the liberty to lecture me about all the fears of riding your bike without a helmet. I get that, however, fear mongering doesn’t work for me. I’ve been bike riding all of my young life into adult life. I choose to take full responsibility for where I bike ride and purpose to do so with common sense. On hills I actually walk my bike up and down. That is when I do my walking with my bike. It’s safe. I appreciate that in my State … there is no bike law that says I must wear a helmet. My friend on FB meant no harm I’m sure, but I would rather she had called me with her strong opinion or private messaged me, instead of using me as her example to express herself and her opinion. I do respect others opinions and would like them to respect mine while there is still freedom to do so. Thank you.
