Kemper Corporation announced that effective April 15, 2013, Andrea James has been named president, Kemper Preferred, the business focused on selling packaged private passenger auto and home policies through independent agents.
Prior to this role, James joined Kemper Preferred as senior vice president, ,arketing & sales, responsibilities she will retain. She will continue to report to Denise I. Lynch, property & casualty group executive, Kemper Corporation.
“Andrea has been an integral part of the leadership team at Kemper Preferred,” said Lynch. “I look forward to her bringing more of her detailed understanding of the business and independent agents to bear as she leads Kemper Preferred into the future.”
James joined Kemper Preferred in May 2012 and brought with her more than 20 years of industry experience. She has worked on the agency side as well as the insurance company side. Prior to joining Kemper, James worked at Fireman’s Fund, where her most recent position was senior vice president/distribution executive. Prior to that, she served as vice president, national sales leader. She has also held senior leadership roles at Bank of America and Allstate.
James is a Chartered Life Underwriter.
