The Hartford has named David A. Carter senior vice president of property insurance for Commercial Markets. In this newly created position, Carter will report to Douglas G. Elliot, president of Commercial Markets.
“In his new role, he will build a team and work across Commercial Markets to enhance the company’s property capabilities,” Elliot said.
Carter has more than 25 years of insurance experience primarily focused on commercial markets. Most recently, he served as vice president – property, Travelers Commercial Accounts. Carter has held various leadership roles at The Travelers Companies, Inc. for more than 17 years. He started his career as a property underwriter for Aetna.
