The world needs to learn the lessons of BIG OIL. The damage done to Alaska by the Exxon Valdez in 1989 has yet to be cleaned. BP is full of lies. The company has no intention of doing anything but a media clean-up job. NO MORE DRILLING in the US. Period.

We’ve sold one of our cars and we’re now taking rapid transit to work. I’m not buying anything in plastic wrapping or containers. When I do drive, I travel so that I save gas, at lower speeds and without excess items in the car. I also work to bring transit systems to the area surrounding my city. I have had enough. What about you? If enough people decide to halt this nonsense, WE CAN!

    Talk about a small mind.

Did you forget about the Exxon Valdez? It’s all related.

It’s all black or white with you. The world works in shade of gray. Too bad you can’t wrap your mind around the options. By keeping this closed view, you’re holding everyone else back. We certainly aren’t saying we don’t need any oil. We can reduce the use drastically.

My roof is aluminum. My cosmetics and hair care is natural. Roads do not need to be made from oil products–concrete works well, as do bricks. Residential brick streets have the added advantage of built-in sleeping policemen, aka speed bumps. My clothing is cotton and we certainly don’t need all the chemical additives on our farm lands. The oil products are killing our rivers and poisoning our land.

Close the mines? You bet. Let’s do that, too. Coal is inherently dirty and dangerous to mine.

Open your mind to the alternatives. That is, unless you are a paid industry posting shill…..

Without oil the majority of everything in your life would cease to operate. Oil has created inventions that improve our lives and life expectancy. What powers the bus you ride, the tires on the bus, the seals around the doors and windows, the lubrication in the engine, the rubber soles on your Berkenstocks, the electric powerplant supplying your city transit system in order to operate/maintain the bus,the additives in the asphalt the bus rolls over creating a smooth ride so you can read your enviromentalist publications?

You can’t really be that stupid, can you? Oil’s impact is vast. Nearly everything in our lives is made from oil, made by machinery and systems dependent on oil, and transported by oil as either gas or diesel fuel. And concrete or brick roads?? Riiiiight. Go back to your cube and stare at your “Save the Rainforests” calendar while the rest of us return to the real world.

Every a$$hole who ever chanted ‘Drill baby drill’ should have to report to the Gulf coast today for cleanup duty

As “Bill” types on his computer, 90% made w/oil products (duh, plastic, etc..)

An example of not having a clue………

Restrictions on drilling caused this by forcing oil companies to use “cutting edge” technology rather than drilling in safe areas to produce materials that keep oafs like “Bill” happy, but not in his back yard.
First spill in 31 years that is just plain TRAGIC for all involved but blind knee jerk reactions show the shallow gene pools.

First, let me say that I think you are a complete lunatic. But, if you would, please elaborate on exactly who carried out this plan and how they executed it so flawlessly. Thanks.

DO not believe this was an accident. These rigs are overly protected with several redundant safety mechanisims to prevent such “accidents”. Something large was behind it. BP is loosing too much oil=money to allow something like this to happen regardless of how many minor safety violations have been violated. Sabotage seems apparent.
