MyNewMarkets.com Announces Two More Exchange Conferences

August 8, 2008

Due to the success of it’s inaugural Exchange conference, MyNewMarkets.com, has scheduled two additional conferences in San Diego on Sept. 4, 2008. and Dallas on Sept. 30, 2008.

MyNewMarkets.com Exchange conferences can best be described as insurance “market fairs,” where agents who need markets meet with managing general agents, wholesalers and carriers who provide them. Sponsoring MGAs, wholesalers and carriers staff “trading desks,” and will be on hand to answer questions and accept applications from agents in attendance.

“This is not a tradeshow were agencies send their customer service representatives for continuing education credits” said Adam Dunford, vice president of new business development for Wells Publishing, publisher of Insurance Journal magazine, ClaimsJournal.com and MyNewMarkets.com. “The agents who come are looking specifically for new markets. We don’t offer CE classes or even have trade show booths. Our draw is the markets themselves, markets looking to do business with agents.”

With mounting economic pressure impacting the bottom line, the Exchange conferences should provide insurance agencies with new opportunities to expand their business, Dunford said. “The Exchange is a very effective way for agents to network with new markets,” he said. “We hold these conferences on a regional basis to reduce the time an agent has to spend away from the office. In less than half a day an agent can sit down and discuss his needs with five or six MGAs and wholesalers with whom he’s never done business. We’re talking about sitting down across a table for 20 to 30 minutes at a time, something unheard of at a typical industry trade show.”

Exchange conferences are open to the entire property/casualty. Attendance is free to agents while three levels of sponsorship are available to MGAs, wholesalers and carriers. Lunch is included.

MyNewMarkets.com plans to hold seven more Exchange conferences throughout the country in 2009 to include events in Florida and Illinois as well as repeat events in California and Texas.
