I made a benign comment about liberals and someone started hurling gay slurs, not exactly the sort of thing I would expect from ‘progressives’. I went to middle school, high school and college in a liberal part of the country. I have come to know multiple people who live a gay lifestyle. I try to treat everyone the same regardless of race, color or creed. That includes sexual orientation.
I think most the gays I have met over the last 35 years have one thing in common – they have suffered indignities that people like me can only imagine. So, when somebody starts hurling gay slurs then its on. I know the purpose of such hurtful language, but again, it reflects more on those who should know better than it does on me. Praise Allah and your some sort of unique novelty. Praise God and your a right wing religious zealot. Wouldn’t both God and Allah laugh their
a** off to witness such hypocrisy?
Is that the only issue? Is that the most important issue when it comes to whats best for America? I think that is one of many issues facing candidates but really, which candidate, from either party, has had guts enough to opine on that subject in the last six months? Nobody will touch it, even your liberal front runners.
Thats because a majority of Americans are tired of it. At first I had a problem with the word marriage. I think we abandon tradition and heritage altogether too easily. I am all for legal rights that are the same or comparable for all couples. Its better for society if legal matters are dispositioned smoothly and efficiently. Its better if property transfers the way couples intend instead of a survivor having to fight an estate.
Who will I vote for? So far I haven’t seen a candidate for either party who deserves my vote.
