Survey: Consumers Rank USAA Tops in Service

    USAA needs a closer look by Forrester,..they can’t see the tree they are after!
    If you look at the Complaint Data from some states USAA has amoung the lowest One problem though*…another carrier who handles the claims and other service for them has have twice the NAIC compliant ratio.
    How can that BE?…What?
    Instead of USAA’s name..they use there Domestic name and are one in the same….It needs a closer look by Forrester,..they can’t see the tree they are after!

    Gee, I must talk to the other half of the USAA insureds that DON’T think their service/knowledge is so “tops”. Guess you can make the answers spin any way you want!

    This article is misleading – the opening sentence talks about insurance, but the survey is about banking!

    “USAA, which provides insurance to people in the armed services, their spouses and children, was ranked No. 1 of companies that demonstrate they have their customers’ best interests at heart in a survey by Forrester Research Inc. . . . The survey results were based on the responses of 5,000 consumers who evaluated 53 U.S. banks, brokerages, insurers and credit card issuers.”

    I know folks currently in the military. They look for insurance from Captive and Indeps becuz of bad experiences with USAA. That’s not unusual. However, I know people who worked at that Military Institution and have said that it’s the “Stepford Wives Club”. All Military Zombies. Since all march to the same cadence and service cadenced-military types, it’s no wonder that they are happy. Hey, they’ve got a captured audience, who think in captured terms. And, making all that money! What next does the Pied-Piper have in store for them? Do you think the Survey Co is unbiased?

    As a satisfied employee of USAA (and one who has worked for other insurers), this company has reduced rates and gives back (in form of dividends) more than any company I’m aware of. Heck, I have State Farm Insurance but when was the last time I received a dividend check from that mutual co? By the way, USAA is NOT a military institution but a private reciprocal company serving a captive market.

    Satisfied employee why aren’t insured by your company, USAA? Aren’t you missing what State Farm is not returning to you? It doesn’t make sense that you work for such a great company and yet take your business elsewhere. Why is that? Aren’t employees like you allowed to enjoy the great benefits from your company? Ummhh, something is not right with USAA, maybe? Maybe you just do not want USAA to know more about you personally. That’s understandable. Oh, by the way, aren’t the top brass of USAA all retired Generals and such?

    acm is correct, USAA is not a military organization, HOWEVER Nonmilitary is right on target that it is run by retired generals that don’t know anything else. It’s probably the most military “non-miltary” organization outside of the Armed Forces in the country.

    OK (ACM is Correct). Also, Since the majority of its military clients receive Federal Income, its a great niche for USAA because there is always money to pay it. Dependents and direct relatives (I imagine) are also customers…wonder if they’re civilian workers or Fed employees too? Their non-pay cancellations are probably lower than NON-MILITARY insurance business. I understand that USAA also insures the CIA, FBI, all the Fed Secretaries (Defense, Labor, Commerce, Dept of the Navy, etc.) at “lesser premiums” than civilian free-enterprise companies charge the rest of America. It just goes on and on… Doesn’t hurt to have such clot!

    USAA is, and always has been known for great service. You can’ fault the survey if you want, but almost any survey of greatest customer service companies puts them at the top. They are able to offer a variety of services from Banking, investements and insurance at reasonable rates. They go to great lengths to keep their employees happy, and have created a corporate culture where providing exceptional service is the norm and not the exception. If this article is a shock to anyone, they aren’t really paying attention to the insurance industry.
