Bulldog, I\’m with ya…but I do enjoy the Insurance Jouranl daily email which is why I\’ve the time to pass along my concerns about these threads which can get very vile. I probably won\’t post much more, someone will hopefully read these.

Listen, it\’s their reputation, and I hope you are right. These threads don\’t do anything to promote the IJ brand…it isn\’t like we got anyone debating the merits…quite the opposite.

So sayeth King Rob. Long live his reign and to have all his subjects abide by his rules. Everyone apply their blinders and lern to nod up and down when King Rob says something.

    Rob,

I can tell you that on some topics you get the political debate that sometimes boarders on the obsurd.

But for most topics you do get some lively debate from people within the industry from all sides, agents, carrier empolyees and you can learn a lot.

I take some of the threads with a grain of salt and hold out for the more informative posts. But sometimes I can\’t jump into the pool and throw a few insane posts…

Don\’t give up on the IJ.

This from Boston Globe 04/22/2007. The article discusses future construction projects for the state of Mass.
    http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2007/04/22/mass_steps_up_climate_rules_for_developers/

Quote form the article fifth paragraph, first sentence \”As a policy change, the measure goes into effect immediately, and requires no legislative approval.\”

Thats right comrades, no debate no nothing, because we said so. Thats because we(the state) know what\’s right for you. And disagreeing is not an option. I did miss the part in the article where the supreme court has outlawed water vapor.

    Rob,
I am sorry you don\’t beleive in free speech. In America, we value this. By the way, what communist or socialist country to you come from?

Thanks Bulldogg, I won\’t give up, just concerned for IJ, a resource I value.

And for Mary B & Rick, IJ is a for-profit company that obviuosly believes a lively comment section within their headlines feature is revenue generating (e.g. – more click-throughs to the advertisers).

Perhaps you could explain how a private website and comment feature has anything to do with your constitutional rights? It isn\’t like you people aren\’t entertaining enough already…but your response is welcomed.

Looks buds, this is not your website (as you clearly imply). Rick is right, why don\’t you believe free speech? Are you so insecure in your viewpoints that you cannot defend them? Someone who is secure and solid in their beliefs would welcome debate. No doubt you are left wing, as all left winger would love to shut down GOP voice. Have you notice, Republicans never mention one word about shutting down speach? Why is it a such a task for your side to defend their positions? Why do you make us look so good by wanting to shut down our voice? Huh???

Of course I worry about the climate change and the impact that it may have on the lives of my kids and their kids (when they have them), but at least there is a good side to this. As long as climate change comes, we know the market can\’t stay soft for ever!

Not to contradict you, my majesty, but I never mentioned any constitutional rights or the trampling of them in my prior post. I am not saying that your highness was wrong or anything as I do not want to be beheaded if I cross you with the wrong words….

    Dirk,

Rob\’s point was that what passes for debate in these comments sections rarely rises above the \”what communist country are you left-wingers from\” type of name-calling, with all the misspellings that you would expect from people who are limited to that debate style. This isn\’t a place for debate. It\’s a place for comments. No one\’s trying to supress free speech. But some people should consider the adage, \”I would rather be silent and thought a fool than speak and remove all doubt.\”
