Phoenix, Ariz.-based MiniCo, Inc. has appointed Jim Clemmensen as the company’s new claims manager.
Clemmensen will be responsible for the operation of the claims department and oversight of MiniCo’s in-house claims staff. He will also serve as the primary liaison between MiniCo and Safeco, which underwrites MiniCo’s commercial and tenant insurance programs, for all claim-related matters.
Clemmensen has been an insurance professional for over 22 years and has a broad range of experience in all key areas of insurance with heavy emphasis in property casualty claims. This includes general liability and property with many years of experience in litigated claims.
Most recently, he served as claim manager for Western Heritage Insurance Company. Prior to that, Clemmensen held the position of senior vice president for Aspen Holdings, Inc., and AJS Insurance, Inc. (where he was chief operating officer). He has managed claim operations of over 150 people, was responsible for a 13-state claim operation, operated an insurance consulting firm, and served as a member of the Insurance Commission Advisory Board in two states. Clemmensen also has an extensive background in government and regulatory affairs.
