Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Ill., will be recognized next week for its driver education program.
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White and Naperville Mayor George Pradel will present school officials with the 2014 Teen Driver Safety Award at a ceremony Monday in Chicago.
White’s office said in an announcement Friday that the school has one of the best driver’s ed programs in the state.
Teen driving deaths have dropped nearly 55 percent in Illinois since the state introduced its Graduated Driver Licensing program in 2008.
The program gradually increases driving privileges for safe teen drivers as they move from one licensing phase to the next.
