Weekend storms caused heavy damage at a Missouri River recreation area south of Bismarck, N.D., and injured people at a lake southwest of the city.
Several tents, campers and vehicles were destroyed by strong winds and falling trees at Kimball Bottoms on Saturday night. Wind gusts estimated at about 60 mph snapped some trees in half and tore others from the ground.
No one was hurt at Kimball Bottoms, but three people suffered head injuries when hail the size of baseballs and softballs fell at Lake Tschida Saturday night. The severity of the injuries was not known.
