A county in Maryland has put a pet disaster trailer into service to help residents care for their pets during severe weather and other emergencies.
The Department of Emergency Services put the trailer into service on Tuesday in Harford County. It is located at the DES facility near Forest Hill.
The trailer is equipped with nonperishable necessities for sheltering pets. It has cat carriers, bowls, collars and leashes, cleaning supplies, tarps, litter boxes and disinfectants.
The trailer has interior lighting and is wired to operate from either a generator or 110v power supply.
