Dearborn’s mayor says the Michigan city is trying to find out why a tractor-pulled hayride trailer made a sharp tip, sending nine people to hospitals for hospital.
The accident happened Sunday evening at Camp Dearborn in Oakland County’s Milford Township, about 30 miles northwest of Detroit.
The city of Dearborn owns the camp and says the accident happened on the last night of its fall hayride season. Mayor John B. O’Reilly says his city and Milford police are investigating.
Dearborn spokeswoman Mary Laundroche says those taken to hospitals were adults and says she believes all were treated and released.
Laundroche says 16 people from a Henry Ford Community College staff group were aboard the trailer. She says the trailer tipped and righted itself and didn’t overturn.
