The horse race track in Shakopee, Minn., has decided against hosting a running-of-the-bulls event.
Canterbury Park spokesman Jeff Maday says the track board decided against bringing the Great Bull Run to Shakopee next spring in light of last week’s incident at the Dakota County Fair when a bull got loose and injured several people.
Maday tells WCCO the park board wasn’t comfortable with the insurance and liability issues surrounding the event.
The Great Bull Run is patterned after the Running of the Bulls in Spain. The first U.S. event is later this month in Richmond, Virginia.
