Kid Rock values his personal space and family’s safety, and made that clear in an online message after a man tried to break into his Detroit-area home.
Security cameras showed a man ramming a gate with a white van Wednesday afternoon on the Clarkston property, north of Detroit. The man then tried to break into the house, but failed to do so, Oakland County Undersheriff Michael McCabe said in a release.
The man was on crutches, which along with the van’s description may prompt someone to report his identity, according to McCabe.
Kid Rock offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the man’s arrest in a post on the musician’s website.
“Thank God I was not on the property at the time of this attempted break in,” read the post. “I am an avid hunter and marksman and I will not hesitate to shoot anyone who has myself or family in fear for our lives.
“I take the invasion of my personal space very seriously regardless of who you are.”
Kid Rock’s music is a blend of hip-hop, hard rock, country and Southern rock. He was born Robert Ritchie.
