An Iowa golf course is preparing to buy $80,000 of lawn-mowing equipment to replace gear that was stolen over the weekend.
The Des Moines Register reports the Bright-Grandview Golf Course in Des Moines, Iowa, reported the theft Saturday morning.
A worker noticed that two lawn-mowing tractors and a four-wheel-drive tractor were missing from a storage building.
Golf course manager Ned Chiodo says the thieves would have had to bring trucks and trailers to haul away the stolen gear. Chiodo says insurance should cover the replacement cost.
Police say two of the building’s doors appear to have been opened by key while one door latch had been cut.
