Kaplan University announced that its School of Business has added three new specialty areas within the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree program—risk management & insurance, real estate, and wealth management.
Kaplan University seeks to prepare students to meet the demands of increasingly complex, diverse and global business environments.
“Kaplan’s School of Business has designed a practical and dynamic curriculum for students who are looking to excel in several business sectors projected to experience healthy growth: real estate, insurance and wealth management services,” says Tom Boyd, dean of the School of Business. “These specializations support the range of professional expertise needed in these areas, in keeping with the evolving market forces driving employment demands in these professions.”
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor, employment related to these specialty areas is expected to grow between 11 and 32 percent nationally by 2020.
Risk Management & Insurance
The risk management & insurance program is structured to help Kaplan University students develop skills to use theories of risk to analyze and evaluate individual, family, auto, home, commercial and other property insurance plans and also learn techniques for treating loss exposures. Students will practice sales skills in addition to applying risk management and insurance principles to evaluate government and business systems. This program’s curriculum is designed to help students prepare for state agent/broker licensure exams.
