Omaha, Neb., police are now investigating property damage accidents again. Police had suspended their investigation of fender benders last week as a snow storm moved through the Midwest dumping heavy snow on the streets.
The investigations were resumed Thursday evening but suspended again Friday afternoon.
Police say they resumed taking calls on the accidents shortly after 10 p.m. Friday.
The city experienced a snow emergency and crews have worked to clean streets and treat the road surfaces to help thaw packed snow and ice.
Motorists had been advised to move their cars to a safe location and exchange information including addresses, phone numbers and insurance information. Only in cases of injury or cars blocking traffic were they to call 911.
