Five teenagers are recovering from burn injuries after some fireworks exploded inside their moving vehicle in Monroe County, Wis.
Sparta police say the department was notified about 4:30 a.m. Monday after the teens arrived at a local hospital.
Investigators believe the teens were throwing lit fireworks from their vehicle when one went off inside. Police say the teens are all 17-year-old males from the Sparta area. The driver of the car was able to take the teens to the hospital, Mayo Clinic Health System.
WKBT-TV says four of the injured occupants were transferred by air to other medical facilities. Their conditions were not immediately known.
