North Dakota’s transportation director says there will be more than $700 million in road construction projects across the state this year.
Francis Ziegler says the bulk of it – $550 million – will be new construction. There will be another $81 million in projects carried over from last year and $105 million in county road projects in the western oil patch.
Ziegler and other officials are urging motorists to slow down and drive cautiously in work zones. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says that last year there were 203 vehicle crashes in work zones.
