Faith-based groups around Missouri are getting training in helping the state respond to disasters.
A series of six regional disaster workshops was getting under way Tuesday in Jefferson City. They workshops continue through May 4.
The Missouri Governor’s Faith-Based & Community Service Partnership for Disaster Recovery has put together a program and speakers. Topics include the demands for which churches and other religious communities must be prepared following a large-scale disaster.
The program also addresses the continuing needs that communities face long after disasters.
Religious and volunteer leaders from Joplin will speak about their experiences.
