The second twister from a storm cell derailed or knocked over 31 railroad cars at the mammoth Bailey rail yard on the west side of North Platte, Neb.
No deaths were reported from the storms that struck Sunday night near North Platte and about 100 miles north, near Valentine.
Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis says one yard worker who was injured by flying debris was taken to a hospital for treatment, then released.
Davis says the yard was closed to through traffic until 12:45 a.m. Monday so an inspection could be completed and key tracks cleared.
Authorities say one person was hospitalized after his semitrailer was tossed off Interstate 80. A second twister from the cell injured a resident who was rescued from house wreckage in western North Platte nearby.
