No one died in a fire in Madison, Wis., in 2011. In fact, it’s the third time in four years that the city hasn’t had any fire fatalities.
The last time a fire claimed a life in Madison was August 2010 when careless cooking ignited a blaze that killed a woman in a condominium on the city’s north side.
WISC-TV says fire officials are focused on preventing fires caused by negligent cooking in 2012. It’s the number one cause of fires nationwide as well as in Madison.
