An explosion at a closed restaurant near the University of Cincinnati has blown out the building’s windows and front door and sent one person to the hospital.
Fire officials could not immediately say what caused Sunday night’s blast at the Jerusalem Restaurant. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was participating in the investigation.
Cincinnati police Lt. Joe Milek told reporters that the injured person went in a private vehicle to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. Milek says investigators believe the man is somehow connected to the restaurant.
People at a business next door told Cincinnati media that the Jerusalem Restaurant had shut down earlier this month.
