A volunteer firefighter is charged with felony arson for allegedly setting fire to a Sheboygan area farm because he was bored.
According to the criminal complaint filed Tuesday, 26-year-old Sean Bradley, of Cedar Grove, told investigators he chose the barn at random as he drove around with lighter fluid.
He worked with the Cedar Grove Fire Department and was among those who responded to the blaze Aug. 9 a Walvoord’s Berry Farm in the Town of Holland. It leveled two buildings, killed two dogs and destroyed thousands of dollars in equipment.
Cedar Grove Fire Chief Greg Navis told The Sheboygan Press that Bradley was with the department for two years and remained active until his arrest Monday night.
Bradley could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
