A St. Louis, Mo., burglary suspect and two others are seriously injured but expected to survive after the suspect allegedly ran a red light and crashed an SUV into two cars while trying to avoid police.
Police were called Tuesday to a home that was being burglarized. An officer saw a gold sport utility vehicle and tried to stop it, but the SUV sped away. Police spokesman Rick Eckhard says the officer did not give chase.
A short time later in Florissant, another county officer saw the SUV speeding and tried to pull it over, but the SUV wouldn’t stop. The suspect then ran a red light and struck the two cars, then a telephone pole.
Eckhard says the officer in Florissant also did not chase the suspect.
