Springfield police say a sneezing fit might have caused a fire truck to overturn last week.
Three firefighters were injured last Wednesday when the truck overturned.
The Springfield News-Leader reports that four reports issued after the accident indicate the driver may have lost control of the vehicle after sneezing several times. The truck was not on the way to a fire call when the accident occurred.
A crash report filed by the police department says a “physical impairment” caused of the crash.
Springfield officials have not yet talked to the driver of the engine. Fire department officials say Paul McGuire remains in intensive care but is improving.
The two other firefighters were treated and released on the day of the accident.
