No one was injured but more than $275,000 in damage was reported when two semitrailers, one carrying a wind turbine blade, crashed in downtown Dubuque, Iowa.
The Telegraph Herald is reporting that the accident happened Wednesday morning on the west side of the Julien Dubuque Bridge, which connects Dubuque to East Dubuque, Ill., over the Mississippi River. The wreck blocked U.S. Highway 52 and cut off access to the bridge from U.S. Highway 20 for more than two hours. It was cleared by late morning.
Police say the driver of one semi, 47-year-old Michael Anders, of Smithsire, Ill., was cited for failure to maintain control. Police say his semi struck the semi carrying the turbine blade.
