Former Missouri Gov. Roger Wilson has been placed on administrative leave from his job as president and CEO of Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance Co.
The Columbia Daily Tribune reports that company board chairman Jim Owen is temporarily filling Wilson’s role. Company spokeswoman Jennifer Peck declined to discuss the reason for Wilson’s leave because it is a personnel matter.
Wilson declined to comment.
Wilson became president of the Columbia-based workers’ compensation company in January 2010 after serving on an interim basis for about eight months.
He served as governor for several months after then-Gov. Mel Carnahan died in an October 2000 plane crash. Wilson, a Democrat, previously had been lieutenant governor and a state senator.
