North Dakota State University Proble Into Building Collapse Due Soon

A North Dakota State University official says results are expected soon from the investigation into why part of a building on campus collapsed late last year.

Interim facilities co-director Mike Ellingson tells The Forum that results of the Minard Hall probe are expected in late October or in November.

State insurance official Jeff Bitz says the claim is complicated because multiple parties are involved.

The northwest wall of the four-story building used for classrooms and offices collapsed last Dec. 27 next to an area that had been excavated for an expansion project.

Officials are working to determine what caused the collapse and who will pay for damages. So far, NDSU has spent more than $1 million on expenses related to the collapse.
