A woman who was hurt last year in a motorcycle crash in Nebraska wants to sue Lancaster County for at least $1 million because she believes an unmarked roundabout contributed to the wreck.
Attorney Douglas Peterson filed a claim on behalf of Lycebeth Loy of Hallam, who was hurt last May. The claim paves the way for a lawsuit to be filed in district court.
Loy was a passenger in a motorcycle her husband, Robert, was driving. The motorcycle struck a median near a roundabout, lost control, and Lycebeth Loy was thrown.
Peterson says the roundabout was created for a proposed Walmart store that was never built, and it was supposed to be fully lit with street lights. Because the development was never built, the roundabout remains dark.
