A lawsuit in the death of an Indiana flight nurse who was one of three people killed in a medical helicopter crash has been settled for $5.6 million.
Attorney Gary Robb of Kansas City, Mo., says the money will be deposited in a trust fund for the children of 38-year-old Sandra Pearson of Avon.
Pearson died in August 2008 along with pilot Roger Warren and paramedic and base manager Wade Weston when their Bell 206 Longranger crashed in a field about 40 miles southeast of Indianapolis.
The National Transportation Safety Board found the main rotor blade broke apart just after takeoff.
A Hendricks County probate judge approved the settlement with defendant Bell Helicopter Textron.
Attorneys with Bell declined comment.
