The Jamestown Fire Department is again ready to handle hazardous material.
A fire last October destroyed a Fire Department storage building and some equipment inside that was used to respond to hazardous materials calls. Much of that equipment had been purchased with federal homeland security dollars.
Fire Chief Jim Reuther says the items have been either fixed or replaced.
“We are 100 percent now,” he said.
Reuther said purchases and renovations were financed by insurance, fire department funds and a state grant.
