The 48 Scouts injured by a tornado in western Iowa were treated at several hospitals.
Eugene Meyer with the Iowa Department of Public Safety said three patients were flown to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, and a fourth was taken there by ambulance. They are in serious condition.
Fourteen injured people were taken to a hospital in Missouri Valley. Meyer says three of them were transferred to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha for treatment of a skull fracture, pelvic fracture and spinal injury. The other 11 were treated and released.
Another 20 injured people were taken to Burgess Medical Center in Onawa. Thirteen of those were treated and released, six were admitted for treatment and one was transferred to Mercy.
