The recent storms are taking their toll on squad cars at the Washington County (Minn.) sheriff’s office.
The mobile command post trailer for the sheriff’s office and nearly half of its squad cars were damaged in storms the past two weekends.
Commander Cheri Dexter says hail damaged and broke out windows in 15 of 36 squad cars.
In addition, 13 new cars — scheduled to be outfitted as squad cars — were damaged in an outdoor lot.
All the broken windows now have been replaced.
Last Saturday, sheriff’s command post trailer, which has been stationed in Hugo, suffered weather damage to its roof, awning and window.
