Indiana-based Conseco, Inc. recently named Thomas Fineis as the company’s senior vice president, health valuation actuary.

As senior vice president, Fineis is primarily responsible for managing
Conseco’s health valuation function on an enterprise-wide basis, overseeing activities at Conseco Insurance Group, Bankers Life and Casualty Company, and Colonial Penn Life Insurance Company.
Fineis previously spent 21 years at Ernst & Young LLP, the last 10 as
principal, where his primary responsibilities included life, health and
annuity insurance consulting and actuarial audit-support services. He has extensive experience in financial reporting, projections and modeling, corporate transactions and modeling, and business process improvement. He has also held positions at Bruce and Bruce Co., and Bankers Life and Casualty Company. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Fellow of the Life Management Institute.
