Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry Commissioner Scott Brener has been elected president of the National Association of Government Labor Officials (NAGLO) during its 2005 summer conference in Maine.
NAGLO is a bipartisan association of the country’s labor commissioners, directors and secretaries, with members from more than 30 U.S. states, territories, the federal government and international representatives.
The group focuses on sharing information and developing policy about a wide range of workplace issues and policy, including workplace safety and health, unemployment insurance, wage and hour
laws, workers’ compensation and workforce development. NAGLO also serves as a primary contact for the federal government about issues relating to labor policy.
As NAGLO president, Brener will help the organization define its policy agenda and recruit new members. He will serve a one-year term and preside over all association meetings.
