Police say a jeep has veered off a mountainous road in western Nepal, killing 11 people.
They say the jeep rolled about 200 meters (650 feet) down a steep hill before it was stopped by trees. Police and local villagers had difficulty reaching the wreckage because of the sharp slope.
There were no signs of any survivors from the accident Tuesday.
Road accidents in Nepal are often caused by poorly maintained vehicles and roads.
This week is the beginning of the Hindu Dasain festival, celebrated over two weeks, when many people return to their villages, increasing the number of travelers. Drivers often pack their vehicles beyond capacity.
