Suspect Tainted Meat Also Sold in Germany

German authorities say meat products from a Danish firm that has been closed over a listeria outbreak also were sold at a store in Germany.

The government of Schleswig-Holstein state said Thursday that the company delivered 160 kilograms (353 pounds) of meat products to the store in Harrislee, just south of the Danish border, in late May. The batch was sold over the following month.

Danish officials said Tuesday that a listeria outbreak caused by contaminated sausages may have killed 10 people during the past few months and they closed down the Copenhagen-based meat producer behind the products. All its products have been recalled.

Danish ferry operator DFDS has said the meat was also sold on its ferries to Norway.
