An official in Istanbul says 14 construction workers have died in a fire in the Turkish city.
Necmi Kadioglu, the mayor of Istanbul’s Esenyurt district, says the workers were killed when a fire late Saturday engulfed a giant tent in which the workers were staying at the construction site of a shopping mall.
Turkey’s state-run television says the fire might have been sparked by a short circuit.
