An ultra-light plane has crashed into a Ferris wheel at a rural festival in Australia, trapping four people in the tangled wreckage for hours. There were no serious injuries.
New South Wales Rural Fire Service spokesman Ben Shepherd says the Cheetah S200 carrying two men did not topple the Ferris wheel when it hit Saturday during an annual festival in the coastal village of Old Bar, north of Sydney.
Shepherd says the pair and two children trapped at the top of the Ferris wheel were able to walk away from the accident once they were freed by a crane.
Witnesses say the Ferris wheel had been full of children minutes before the crash. But because of impending rain, only five had dared to take the final ride.
