The French agency investigating the 2009 plane crash over the Atlantic says it has dropped a recommendation that air safety authorities study whether stall alarms function properly.
The BEA agency said Wednesday after a string of critical media reports that the recommendation had been included in a draft of its report on the Air France crash, but it was kept out of the final version because it was considered “premature” and needed further investigation.
French newspapers reported the recommendation stemming from misleading stall warnings has been deleted from the report just days before its publication.
The agency’s report on the crash mainly blamed pilot errors.
All 228 people aboard Flight 447 were killed when the Airbus A330 crashed in June 2009.
