Specialty insurer Markel International announced the promotion of Graeme Veale to claims operations director. He joined Markel International in June 2008, having previously worked within the Lloyd’s and London Market. His current post is claims operations manager.
In his new role, Veale will take on additional responsibilities, including “wider operational projects in support of the operations director, Hugh Maltby.” He will continue to chair the London market’s ACORD Claims Working Group and sit on the Associations’ Administration Committee (AAC).”
Stuart Willoughby, claims director at Markel International, commented “I am delighted to announce Graeme’s promotion which is in recognition of his work around claims performance measurement and management, as well as his involvement in significant projects, such as the claims element of Markel’s acquisition of Elliott Special Risks last year and Markel’s influential ECF ‘Time and Motion’ study.”
The bulletin noted that this study, “carried out in 2009, showed that electronic claims files (ECF) processing was faster than paper processing.”
