Loss adjuster GAB Robins UK Limited has been appointed to handle the claims following a major fire at the Skymark packaging plant in Leominster near Hereford. The fire started in the early hours of Wednesday June 17th causing over £10 million [$16..5 million] in damages.
“The plant’s use of inks, solvents and other flammable materials, and the noxious smoke produced by burning plastics resulted in the Local Authority setting up a 400 meter [app. 1/4 mile] cordon around the factory, with local residents being evacuated,” said the bulletin.
“Over 75 firefighters from neighboring counties tackled the blaze using new foam technology and they remained on site after the fire had been put out to keep it damped down.”
GAB Robins loss management team comprises Sam Boley, Major and Complex Loss Director; Susan Willmott, Major and Complex Loss; Steven Nock, Chartered Accountant and Kevin Dinsdale, Chartered Surveyor. Sam and Steven met with the Insured on the day of the fire at their insurance brokers offices due to the exclusion zone and site visits took place the following day, once the exclusion zone had been lifted.
